Fred Kopo, luthier
Since 1988, my workshop has seen the birth of several hundred musical instruments.
Over the years, my passion has focused on steel or nylon string acoustic guitars, while remaining open to the creation of all types of stringed instruments, whether basses or electric guitars, violins or electro basses for example!
What drives me today is the quest for simple, refined and effective designs, favoring the use of ecological materials in order to keep the use of our precious wood for its most relevant use.
Also I am committed to using local woods as much as possible, and I have developed an innovative concept, a bio-composite guitar body called "Klas".
I invite you to explore my universe through this site, where you will discover my creations and my commitment to the environment.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss your musical project. I look forward to supporting you in the realization
of the instrument of your dreams!

Acoustics and research to optimize sound qualities are the basis of design and innovations.
From the headstock to the bridge, including the vents, the principle of interlocking the neck, are all components designed according to each other. The optimal goal sought is for the finished instrument to appear obvious, almost classic, despite a resolutely contemporary line.

Ouessant Models
The Ouessant model was created in 2005 as a 16" Jumbo guitar in a medium format, very comfortable to play.
Designed from the start to be made from non-tropical wood, such as maple, ash, cormier, walnut, for the body, since 2016, we have developed an eco-composite based on linen fiber. We call this composite the K.L.A.S!
