| I founded my
KOPO Guitar Workshop in 1988, after years of study and apprenticeship
with some brilliant builders and instructors.
I started in 1981 as an apprentice to noted violin maker Christian
Boyer.
Following this introduction to the world of Lutherie, I completed
a three year course of full time study at the Musical Instrument
Department of the LONDON College of Furniture. I chose to study
both the Violin family and the Guitar, and worked with some of the
finest builders of our day.
Returning to France, I built a wide range of stringed instruments
to order, and eagerly continued my studies informally by my intimate
association with gifted luthiers J.M Fouilleul, J.C Malherbes, and
others.
Now, after more than 20 years at KOPO, I am proud to be able to
inspire and influence other fine luthiers who have chosen to work
with me at my Studio.
Some have come for a few weeks, some stay for many years.
Chronologically, they are: Pierre Peyé, Fabrice Charon, Gilles
Pourtoy, François Vendramini, Sébastien Aquilina,
Yann Mahé, Benjamin Bataille, Alexandre Littée,…
